Alright so I am a starting EOF student and I am having a hard time in the topic we're covering. We're currently doing coin problems, equations with fractions, consecutive integers, sum of two numbers and perimeter problems. I am having problem with these few probs; In a class of 74 students, the num,ber of the females is fewer that twice the number of males. How many females and how many males? 2. x-15/8 +x+15/4= 3/2 3. 1/3+y-1/10=3y+2/5

1. I think you meant “the number of females is ONE few than twice the number of males”

74 (total students) = males + females

females = 2*males -1

74 = 2*m-1+m

74 = 3*m-1

75 = 3*m

m =25

f = 2*25-1

f = 49

males = 25, females = 49

What you want to do with the next problems is make all the fractions have the same denominator (the bottom part)

2. x-15/8+x+30/8 = 12/8

2x +15/8 = 12/8

2x = -3/8

x = -3/16

3. 10/30+y-3/30 = 3y +12/30

-2y = 5/30

y = -1/12
